Automation Technician (Relocation to Carlsbad, NM)

Position Summary:

The successful candidate of this position is responsible for installing and maintaining automation and communication equipment on tank batteries, processing plants, and compressor stations.  Candidate MUST relocate to Carlsbad, NM area. 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are neither all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Install & maintain automation equipment throughout the Permian Basin
  • Program and Configure PLC devices
  • Install and calibrate numerous level, pressure, and temperature transmitters
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various communication devices
  • Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as policies

Skills & Experience:

  • Candidate must not have 2 or more traffic tickets/moving violations within the last 5 years.
  • Position requires skills normally obtained through the completion of high school, GED, or equivalent.
  • This position typically requires 2-5 years of experience in gas plant operations or related experience with PLC programming and configurations as well as understanding of electronic flow meters and other production equipment.
  • Requires experience with Fisher ROC and Allen Bradley.
  • Candidate must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Candidate MUST be able to relocate to Carlsbad, NM area, relocation assistance provided. 
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
  • This position requires a valid state issued driver’s license and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire.  Incumbents in this position are also subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT regulations.
