Materials Management

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Materials Foreman is the first-level supervisor responsible for overseeing the daily activities of individuals engaged in materials distribution, and warehouse operations.  This position has direct oversight of all inventory management functions; including but not limited to rack counts, tank batteries and other field equipment. Responsible for the appearance and safe operations of the warehouse, including the responsibility to ensure that all personnel adhere to Cimarex policies, guidelines, and procedures, as well as required documentation and reporting.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Provides direct oversight and supervision of inventory management for all areas in the pipe-yard and warehouse including but not limited to:
    • Supervision and scheduling of daily activities of warehouse personnel
    • Inventory balance on rack counts, and other warehouse stock, production and drilling equipment
    • “First-In, First-Out” inventory rotation process
    • Tank battery purchases, including coordination of bids, purchasing, delivery, inspection and repairs
  • Coordinates with internal personnel, including Production Foremen, Construction Foremen, Pumpers, Engineers, as well as third party supply vendors, regarding issues, such as materials availability, appropriate substitutions, and delivery logistics
  • Reviews and approves quotes, verifies load shipments from vendors, back-order follow-up, and monitors and replenishes stock levels
  • Accountable to ensure correct and accurate inventory selection and shipment to field locations
  • Accountable for sourcing of non-standard and long lead time materials
  • Responsible to provide “on-call” support of field and warehouse requirements
  • Acting relief in absence of Warehouse Manager

Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or 4-year college degree highly preferred. Relevant experience may substitute as equivalent for degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years industry experience in materials management and previous supervisory experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of materials handling, inventory management, OCTG tubular products, and production equipment
  • Valid CDL Motor vehicle license preferred
  • Forklift certification and working knowledge of proper loading and unloading techniques for trucking
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles related to appropriate accurate cost coding of equipment
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office and inventory management software systems
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be strong leader and a team player that possess the ability adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
