Position Summary:

Incumbents in this position are responsible for the detection and documentation of fugitive emissions components at oil and gas facilities utilizing Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras and equipment in accordance with 40 CFR 60 Subpart OOOOa.  Works closely with field personnel to identify source of leaking components to facilitate timely repair.  Responsible to enter data from completed survey inspections in order to substantiate survey occurrences and all data related to leaking component discoveries including type, size, location and other pertinent notes related to repairs or site assessments.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Organizes and prioritizes daily scheduling for initial survey inspections, repair-by dates and re-inspections
  • Responsible to operate Optical Gas Imaging Cameras and equipment in order to accurately detect fugitive emissions components at oil and gas facilities
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of findings of all data including data related to leaking components including type, size, location and all associated notes that may be important for individuals assigned to perform repairs and site assessments  
  • Works closely with field personnel to identify and resolve fugitive leaks including strategic implementation of repairs to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Responsible to tag unrepairable components with appropriate identification measures and schedules repair and sets re-inspection deadlines in conjunction with regulatory mandates
  • Prepares reports that accurately reflect all data gathered at inspection
  • Complies with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as company policies
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required
  • Minimum of 3 years oil and gas industry experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand process flows and identify different types of equipment found at upstream oil and gas facilities
  • Practical knowledge of thermal imaging and leak detection techniques
  • Ability to follow through on assignments and policies/procedures with little supervision required
  • Must be a self-motivated and a team player with ability to adapt in fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interface with field, corporate personnel and third party contractors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various field data collection applications and tracking systems in order to properly and accurately document and develop daily and cumulative site reports
