Materials Management

Position Summary:

Under close supervision, the Warehouseman I is responsible for performing basic duties related to warehouse and pipe yard inventory and operations, including equipment needed for drilling, producing and transmitting oil and gas. Responsible for DOT required reporting and maintenance on hotshot vehicles and trailers.  May be required to operate forklift or other machinery used in and around pipe yard and warehouse.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive or nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Assists with loading and unloading delivery trucks including accurate accounting for in/out inventory counts and description verification
  • Monitors inventory levels on miscellaneous fittings to ensure adequate supplies are maintained. Responsible to notify correct individual prior to depletion
  • Assists with warehouse inventory counts and reconciliation
  • Assists with tank battery hook-ups including accurate quantity and type of fittings necessary for installation.
  • Assists with verification of tank battery bill of materials at vendors to verify accuracy
  • Provides shipment notification paperwork to administrative staff in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintains and completes all DOT required reports, files and logs
  • Performs DOT required maintenance on hotshot vehicle and trailer
  • Assists internal personnel, including Production Foremen, Construction Foremen, Pumpers, Engineers, as well as third party supply vendors, regarding issues, such as materials availability, appropriate substitutions, and delivery logistics
  • Maintains the pipe yard in a clean and orderly manner; verifies tubulars are safely and correctly racked
  • May operate forklift or other machinery used in pipe yard and warehouse
  • May drive hotshot vehicle and trailer to deliver equipment to field locations
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current motor vehicle license; CDL Class A preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse and pipe yard operations preferred
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy
  • Must be team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment


Work is both indoors and outdoors.  Exposure to conditions such as extreme heat or cold is likely.  Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles, forklifts and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting and climbing. Personal protective equipment including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced.  Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
