Position Summary:

This is an HR position that acts as a partner to Cimarex’s operating functions located in Cimarex’s Tulsa office.  The primary purpose is to provide professional HR guidance and support to the Exploration, Production and Drilling organizations located in Tulsa, with the objective of adding value to the business. The HR Manager will be responsible for working with managers and employees who are located in the Tulsa office or may be located in field offices associated with Anadarko Exploration, Production and Drilling activities.  This is approximately 400+ employees.  Some travel to field locations will be necessary, with occasional travel to Cimarex’s two other primary offices in Midland or Denver.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and employees when appropriate.
  • Act as liaison between the region and the Human Resources team to ensure HR services are aligned with the needs of the region’s workforce.
  • Help ensure that Cimarex’s HR team is aware of opportunities to support business success in the Anadarko region.
  • Help ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the region’s organization.
  • Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the region’s business strategies.
  • Identify and analyze HR-related challenges or issues, and then identify best practice solutions to them.
  • Identify opportunities where HR can add value to the business, and facilitate the means by which HR can capture such opportunities.
  • Identify needed employee training and development, identify resources for providing training and development opportunities and manage their delivery.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees.

  • Ability to engage, inspire and influence people.
  • Ability to articulate Cimarex’s values and help managers and employees understand how to apply these values in their day-to-day work.
  • Effective team player.
  • Ability to identify ways for HR to support Cimarex’s business strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategies.
  • Understanding of how the various HR functions can provide support to regional managers and employees.
  • Knowledge of HR-related laws.
