Facilities Engineer

Corporate Engineering

Position Summary:

The facilities engineer will participate in engineering assignments for facilities and pipeline projects related to production facilities, salt water disposal facilities, and gathering networks and other product/processing related infrastructure and facilities. They will also perform feasibility studies and calculations pertaining to budgets, costs, required materials and plan designs using basic engineering principles.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Responsible for designing and planning onshore production facilities, salt water disposals, and gathering system
  • Provides planning and budgeting for facility modifications and construction projects
  • Participates in bidding and selection processes for vendors to perform various construction activities
  • Supports operations and troubleshoots to identify problems and provide solutions
  • Other work as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Four year degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, petroleum engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role
  • Ability to develop cost estimates, develop P&IDs, review design packages, and communicate effectively with construction and operations personnel is required
  • Knowledge of corrosion, fluid mechanics, and economic analysis for pipeline/facilities desirable
  • Experience with pipeline modeling software a plus, NextGen/WinFlow Preferred
  • Familiarity with pipeline design codes and safety requirements including ASME B31.4 & B31.8 as well as 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195
  • Experience in any or all of the following: oil & gas pipelines, production/treating facilities, well tie-ins, pipeline integrity, compression stations, terminals, meter runs, tie ins, or launcher/receivers
  • Understanding of RRC and BLM regulations a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of production optimization concepts and applications
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary team setting
  • Practical knowledge of unconventional/conventional resource plays
