Regulatory Analyst

Job Location US-OK-Tulsa | US-TX-Midland

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, incumbents in this position are responsible for the coordination, completion, and filing of government, state and federal, regulatory and compliance documents. Ensures company is compliant with applicable regulations related to company operations.  Responsible to research and file Applications for Permit to Drill.  Acts as liaison between company and regulatory agencies. Stays abreast of regulatory issues and keeps management informed on new or changing regulatory requirements. This position can be based in either our Tulsa, OK or Midland, TX office. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive or nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Create and file drilling permits with all necessary related documents
  • Create and file Oil/Gas completion documents
  • Create and file Injection/SWD permits with all necessary related documents
  • Create and file flare permits with all necessary related documents
  • Manage all other state regulatory filings as necessary
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Combination of Education and/or Experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in regulatory/compliance; experience with Texas and/or New Mexico permitting regulations preferred
  • Established knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to regulatory filings
  • Established proficiency and ability to read, research and comprehend regulatory issues which relate to permitting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various regulatory agencies and all levels of company staff and management
  • Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy
  • Must be team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
